Educating others has always been a part of who I am and what comes naturally to me. After I graduated college, I went to Belize for a month and taught at an elementary school that desperately needed volunteers. I was ready to explore different teaching practices and expand my own attributes and skills. After researching and saving money I discovered an organization (WeBEA) that helps students in Belize continue their education. I was one of the three teachers who constructed two workshops on differentiated learning styles for the teachers of the Forest Home Methodist School. I had donated an abundance of school supplies (48.7 pounds to be exact) and created tools with minimal materials for every classroom. Throughout my time volunteering in the classrooms I embraced each challenge with open arms, as it was those experiences that have shaped me into becoming a better teacher.
